As we finish up our 10th Anniversary Year, we would like to thank you for your continuing support. As I looked back over our goals for 2006, I realized that we actually completed them…..new sign, new driveway, relocate the quilting machine! Say it fast and it doesn’t seem like much, however, each project was enormously time-consuming….but well worth all the effort! What’s in store for 2007? Well, we have two new grandbabies on the way so whatever we decide to do we will be arranging our plans and schedule to coincide with their births. Erin & Shawn are expecting their 2nd son, Parker Daniel Smith, on February 5th. Vanessa & Lucas just recently found out that they are pregnant and are expecting their baby in June. (By the way, I can now officially call Lucas my son-in-law as they were quietly married on October 14th)
The 3rd Annual Mountain Holly Days in Rangeley and Oquossoc Villages will be held on Saturday, December 9th and Sunday, December 10th. We just finished our Fall 2006 Quilt Camps with Deb Tucker. Weekends at the Country Club Inn and mid-week classes at Quilt Inn Rangeley Retreat Center were informative, fun and inspiring. The weather in Rangeley in October is always unpredictable, this year being no exception. A beautiful, sunny fall day greeted the first weekend campers on the 13th; the second weekend was a mixture of rain/wind/snow and the loss of a HUGE tree directly in front of our quilting room. Thankfully, the tree fell away from the building or we would have had some very unhappy campers!! The third weekend campers arrived in sunny, cool weather with a gorgeous view of a snow capped Saddleback Mountain. The following day brought more snow…..a perfect quilting day!! Fall
Quilt Camps 2007 are scheduled for October 12 – 28. Deb and I
are working on getting all info available by mid-February. |
Not sure if Quilt Camp or classes are for you? Take a moment to read what my good friend Martha has to say…
Quilt classes offer a wonderful opportunity to gather with
fellow quilters, from my hometown and around the country, for a
day or evening of creative exploration. I always pick up
wonderful ideas and inspiration as we each brainstorm and offer
problem-solving suggestions when one of us hits a construction
or design snag. The instructor ALWAYS throws out that one tidbit
or helpful hint that prompts me to declare, “Now THAT was worth
the price of admission!”
