Welcome to summer at Threads Galore Quilt Shop! I have recently returned from Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, Utah so we have loads of new patterns, books and fabrics and many more on order. All new items are in our webpage catalog under “What’s New”. We also have the summer class schedule available. We are calling these classes “Summer Coolers” because all classes are held in the AIR-CONDITIONED Quilt Inn Rangeley Retreat Center. As I mentioned, I recently attended Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City! I went with the gals from Country Creations in Jefferson, ME – Karon, Wendy and Doris (Mumsie). We went several days early to do a bit of sightseeing and sightseeing we did!! Utah is beautiful! The views just go on and on! We drove to Bryce Canyon and spent the night at the National Park there. The next morning we all got up bright and early to watch the sunrise come up over the mountains to shine into the valley upon all the hoodoos. Amazing colors! On the drive back to SLC we decided that we would do a “Quilt Challenge”. Each one of us picked up the same fat quarter at each quilt shop we stopped at that represented all the colors we had seen. We now have one year to complete a 48 x 48 project that reminds of us our trip. Our goal is to have them finished to be able to enter them in Maine Quilts 2008!

We still have space available in the New Year Star Quilt Camp Weekend, October 12 – 14, and in the mid-week classes Wyoming Valley Star, October 16 & 17, and Star and Square Table Runner, October 23. The Rangeley Star and Honeycomb weekends are full, along with the mid-week Spinning Pinwheels class. In case of a cancellation, we are accepting names for the waiting list. FYI, you may attend the New Year Star weekend and work on one of the other weekend projects.
 

We still have a couple of fall weekends available for your group to enjoy a quilting weekend in Rangeley. Check out our online calendar for available dates.

PARKING REMINDER
It’s time for my yearly reminder – Pleasant Street is a NO PARKING street!
Please park in our parking lots – either in the Quilt Inn parking lot or the parking lot on the Stratton side of our house/shop. Between logging trucks, construction trucks and now Poland Spring tanker trucks there is a lot of heavy traffic!

NEW ITEMS
We have way too much new “stuff” to list so keep checking our online catalog under “What’s New” as we are adding items almost daily. When you are in the shop, look for the red hexagon “NEW” tags that we are now placing on the newest items.
